Richard is Head of Marketing for Doolli, Inc., an Infrastructure-as-a-Service company serving the higher education, SOHO, and enterprise software markets. Richard oversees growth hacking strategies for the Start-Up NY participating company. He's also responsible for maintaining the customer lifecycle experience.
Prior, Richard served as Senior Director of Marketing at MicroStrategy, where he was responsible for global partner marketing. MicroStrategy is a leading developer of enterprise software. Richard was the main point-of-contact (POC) for the company’s extensive partner ecosystem. In his role, Richard grew the company's partner network to more than 1,500 companies, which comprised of some of the most prestigious technology companies, such as Amazon, Apple, Cisco, Cloudera, Deloitte, HCL, Hortonworks, HP, IBM, MapR, Oracle, SAP, and many more.
Prior to MicroStrategy, Richard served as Chief Marketing Officer for Samepoint, Inc., a social media search engine and data aggregator. While at Samepoint, Richard pioneered content marketing and social media campaigns that helped Samepoint become one of the most visited social media search engines in 2009. He was also responsible for issuing a series of widely-sited reports, including the US Top 100 Most Social Mayors study.
Richard also served as Chief Marketing Officer while at Boonty, Inc., a worldwide digital distributor of video games. Richard oversaw the company's partner network, where he ushered in new in-game advertising, and try-before-you-buy commerce strategies.
Prior, he served as VP of Marketing and Business Development for Kasparov Chess Online, and later, Kasparov Chess Foundation, where he led marketing, licensing and efforts for the educational technology organization headed up by World Chess Champion, Garry Kasparov. Richard was responsible for striking lucrative international licensing deals, including UbiSoft’s Kasparov Checkmate, the most sold chess game of all time.
Previously, Richard served as Director of Online Marketing at broadband-provider Icon CMT, acquired by Qwest Communications. He was also part of the original management team for LocalEyes, Inc., a local search engine acquired by AOL, where he oversaw marketing and biz dev. Prior to his marketing career, Mr. Krueger worked at several top-ten advertising and public relations agencies in New York City, where he oversaw major accounts such as AT&T, IBM, Sony, and many more.
A best selling author and popular speaker, Richard is author of four “Dummies” books, including: Facebook Marketing for Dummies (Wiley 2009), Facebook Advertising for Dummies (Wiley 2010), Facebook Marketing for Dummies 2nd Edition (Wiley 2011) and Facebook Marketing for Dummies 3rd Edition (Wiley 2012). Combined, the books sold more than 100,000 copies and were translated in four languages, including Korean. A regular blogger and contributor to advertising and PR trade journals, Richard is a graduate of Ithaca College, and resides in New York City with his family.
